VALENCIA and TURN in Andrey Silaev’s Project: From Design to Completion

How does a design concept work in everyday life? We first featured Andrey Silaev’s country residence while it was still taking shape. Now, we have the rare opportunity to view the completed and inhabited spaces from the residents’ perspective – and to compare the original design with the finished result.

The style of the residence can be described as an individual interpretation of contemporary design, complemented by classical and Art Deco elements. For the bathrooms, Andrey Silaev selected faucets and accessories from two Jörger collections: the elegant VALENCIA and the distinctly modern TURN.

In the finished spaces, the bathrooms have a different presence than in the original designs. The large-format Onice Iride Malaga and Onice Iride Argento porcelain stoneware by La Fabbrica reveals considerably richer, deeper colors: smoky gray and opalescent tones with warm beige accents in the primary bathroom, and gray-green shades with fresh notes of aquamarine in the daughter’s bathroom. The pearlescent shimmer and nuanced play of color in the tiles could only be approximated in the renderings.

During the project, the decorative pendant lights were also omitted – the floating white birds in the daughter’s bathroom as well as the cascade of white and blue glass spheres in the primary bathroom. As a result, both spaces now feel calmer, clearer, and more precise.

The primary bathroom is defined by the contrast between nature and precise geometry. The lively patterns and textures of the wall surfaces are set against the clean forms of the mirrors, the washbasin, and the faucet from the TURN collection. Its body is based on a square that rotates 90 degrees from base to top. In this way, TURN echoes the movement of the natural veining and translates it into a clearly defined form.

The faucet, metal details on the washbasin, and the frames and handles of the Milldue cabinetry give the space structure. High-gloss chrome surfaces connect TURN’s modern design language with the Art Deco–influenced geometry of the basin and the origami-inspired furniture handles.

Lighting also structures the space and shapes its atmosphere. Andrey Silaev planned concealed ceiling fixtures, carefully positioned spotlights, and lighting integrated into the shelving and mirrors. Together, they create different lighting scenarios tailored to the time of day and the way the space is being used.

In the daughter’s bathroom, the designer chose sanitary fixtures with softly rounded forms and a harmoniously coordinated color palette. The VALENCIA faucets in satin nickel blend discreetly into the room. They compete with neither the expressive wall design nor the furniture fronts. At the same time, the faucets’ distinctive form, precision industrial-style knurling, and balanced proportions remain clearly visible.

Jörger Design faucets are part of a comprehensive interior concept that brings together products from a range of international manufacturers:
